How to Accept an Offer Letter

SelectJobs_interviewIt is time you got selected for the job and organization has sent you an offer letter but you are not sure how to accept it?

When accepting an offer letter make sure that the HR manager has sent you a written offer letter and it contains all the basic information like job description, salary, benefits and all the terms which were agreed upon during the interview.

After accepting your offer letter verbally, it is a good idea to write up a formal follow up letter or email to the employer accepting the position. It should be brief and include the following –

  • Thanks and appreciation of the opportunity
  • Written acceptance of job offer
  • Terms and conditions of the employment
  • Starting date of the employment

Letter should be addressed to the HR manager who offered you the job, should be well written i.e. not contain any typos or grammatical errors. Even though you have impressed the employer and grabbed the job, you still need to impress your employer so keep things formal.

As we discussed, my starting salary will be Rs. XX,000, with two (2) weeks’  vacation per year, and health and life insurance benefits being provided after XX days of employment.

I look forward to starting employment on July 1, 20XX. If there is any additional information or paperwork you need prior to then, please let me know.

Again, thank you.
